These Terms govern the use of the USAVFT website, training services, registration/payment system, waiver and student portals, student resources, communications, and related services. By registering for or purchasing a course or service, using our website or student resources, or otherwise engaging our services, you agree to these Terms as applicable.

1. Training Services

USAVFT provides firearms safety, concealed carry, and related training. Course descriptions, schedules, pricing, locations, prerequisites, and requirements may vary. Students are responsible for reviewing applicable requirements and providing accurate information.

2. Illinois Concealed Carry Training

Illinois CCL training is conducted in accordance with applicable requirements. Completion of training does not guarantee issuance of a CCL or other government credential. Licensing decisions are made by the appropriate government authority, and students remain responsible for separate government applications, fees, identification, eligibility, fingerprinting, and other requirements.

3. Student Eligibility

Students are responsible for determining whether they meet applicable legal and course eligibility requirements. USAVFT may refuse or discontinue training when reasonably necessary for safety, disruptive behavior, suspected impairment, failure to follow directions, failure to satisfy requirements, or other circumstances interfering with safe or lawful instruction.

4. FOID and Firearms Requirements

A FOID card is not required merely to attend certain classroom portions when permitted by applicable law and course requirements. Students must comply with all applicable laws and range/facility policies concerning firearms.

5. Classroom Firearms Safety

Unless specifically authorized or instructed otherwise, students must not bring personal firearms into the classroom training area. USAVFT may provide appropriate training/practice equipment. Students must follow instructor safety directions at all times; unsafe conduct may result in removal.

6. Range Qualification

Courses requiring live-fire qualification include a separate range component. Students must follow all range rules, commands, and safety procedures. Range fees may be separate unless specifically stated otherwise. Classroom completion does not substitute for required live-fire qualification.

7. Course Completion and Certificates

Students must complete all required portions before a training certificate is issued. Requirements may include classroom instruction, exercises, live-fire qualification, acknowledgments, waivers, knowledge checks, roster/signature requirements, and other applicable activities. Students must review certificate information for accuracy. A training certificate is not itself a CCL, FOID card, or authorization to possess or carry a firearm.

8. Student Portal and CCL Companion

USAVFT may provide electronic resources including the Student Portal, CCL Companion, guides, post-class materials, videos, notices, knowledge checks, records, and certificates. Some resources may be required. Portal materials are for the student’s personal educational use and may not be copied, redistributed, resold, or commercially used without authorization. Students are responsible for protecting their access credentials.

9. Scheduling and Location

Class dates and times are subject to instructor availability and are not guaranteed until confirmed. USAVFT may provide mobile or in-home classroom instruction. Live-fire portions are conducted at an appropriate shooting range/facility selected or approved for the training.

10. Schedule Changes

Dates or locations may change because of weather, range availability, emergencies, instructor illness, unsafe conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances. When USAVFT must change a class, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule affected students.

11. Rescheduling and Cancellation by Student

Unless otherwise stated: more than 7 days’ notice — reschedule without a rescheduling fee; more than 3 days but 7 days or less — $25 fee for renewal classes and $75 for other applicable classes; 3 days (72 hours) or less — the student may forfeit the entire class fee. Failure to attend without appropriate notice may be treated as a late cancellation.

12. Payments and Refunds

Payment requirements and due dates are provided during registration or invoicing. Unless otherwise stated, payment is due no later than one week before class. A reservation may not be fully secured until required payment is received. Applicable processing, range, or separately disclosed charges may apply. Refunds, when applicable, are handled according to the cancellation/rescheduling policy and original payment method; incurred third-party fees may be non-refundable where permitted.

13. Student Conduct; Alcohol, Drugs and Impairment

Students must behave safely and respectfully. Threatening behavior, harassment, intentional safety violations, suspected intoxication or impairment, or refusal to follow safety instructions may result in immediate removal without completion. Students must not participate while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, medications, or any condition preventing safe participation.

14. Assumption of Risk

Firearms training and live-fire activities involve inherent risks. Students are expected to follow all safety instructions and may be required to complete appropriate acknowledgments, releases, or waivers. These Terms do not replace any separate waiver required for an activity.

15. Educational Information and Legal Disclaimer

Training materials may discuss firearms laws, concealed carry, use of force, self-defense, safety, and related legal topics for educational purposes. USAVFT does not provide individualized legal advice. Laws may change; students are responsible for complying with current law and should consult a qualified attorney when legal advice is needed.

16. Website Information and English-Language Instruction

USAVFT makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate website and course information, but details may change. Website information may be offered in English and Spanish for convenience. All USAVFT firearm and Illinois CCL classes, instruction, testing, range commands, and required student participation are conducted in English unless USAVFT expressly states otherwise for a specific service.

17. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, USAVFT course materials, written content, student resources, graphics, instructional materials, and proprietary training resources are owned by or licensed to USAVFT. Materials are for personal educational use and may not be reproduced, published, sold, distributed, or commercially exploited without permission.

18. Electronic Communications, SMS and Browser Notifications

Students may receive administrative or course-related electronic communications associated with requested services. SMS participation requires affirmative consent and is voluntary; it is not a condition of purchase or completion. Message frequency varies; message/data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance. Browser/site notifications are also optional and controlled through browser/device permissions. Enabling them is not a condition of purchase or training.

19. SMS Privacy

Mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, and consent information will not be sold or rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be provided to service providers when reasonably necessary to operate messaging on behalf of USAVFT.

20. Third-Party Services

USAVFT may use third-party providers for website hosting, payment processing, communications, student-record management, SMS delivery, browser notifications, and other business functions. Use of third-party services may also be subject to the provider’s terms and privacy practices.

21. Privacy

USAVFT’s collection and handling of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.

22. Limitation of Services

USAVFT reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or discontinue services when reasonably necessary for safety, legal compliance, nonpayment, failure to satisfy requirements, violation of these Terms, or other legitimate business reasons.

23. Changes to These Terms

USAVFT may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in services, policies, technology, legal requirements, or business practices. The current version will be posted with an updated date.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable laws of the State of Illinois and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing here is intended to waive rights or protections that cannot legally be waived.
